Project Location:

1345 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA

Scope of Services:

Commercial HVAC Design and Build
Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing (MEP) Systems
Building Automation Systems (BAS)

Value:

$6.2 mil

Description:

ASI worked with the Network Appliance team and the General Contractor, Devcon Construction on this 120,000 S.F. 5-story design/build office building with a 20,000 S.F. 1st floor café & training center and a 900-ton rooftop water-cooled central plant. This fast-track design/build project required seamless coordination with all other trades. Formal 3rd-Party Commissioning of all MEP systems as performed at project close.

This project was also targeted by Network Appliance as their introduction to LEED building certification. ASI participated in the LEED design/implementation process in order to achieve LEED-certified status. HVAC LEED measures included demand-control ventilation, increased energy efficiency measures and lighting controls.

Project award was based on our bundled service proposal for commercial HVAC & plumbing scopes of work; ASI was the only MEP bidder capable of performing both commercial HVAC and plumbing design/build scopes of work.

The ASI project management and design team modified the original a high HVAC design concept (packaged VAV equipment) to include a high efficiency water-cooled chiller plant design. Revised rooftop chiller plant design concept became part of the written "Campus Design Specifications" for all future Network Appliance buildings.
