Annual Children's Faire
Annual Children's Faire - This free public event will be held on April 24, 2010 at Children's Discovery Museum, Discovery Meadow Park in San Jose. This event is specifically geared for young children 2-12 and their families. There will be 40+ resource booths providing free activities for children along with stage entertainment, jump houses, fire trucks, and food booths.

Kids Free Fishing Weekend
Because of generous community sponsors, especially the Air Systems Foundation, Kids Free Fishing Days is able to conduct their 19th Kids Free Fishing event. On May 1-2, 2010, some 6,000 children will participate in the most worthwhile project held at the Los Gatos Creek Park. Kids Free Fishing Days offers children of all ages (and their families) the ability to participate in a health, outdoor activity while recognizing and understanding the wonder of our natural water resources. Each child who participates brings a rod, reel, bait and a big smile. There are prizes for tagged fish too! The Air Systems Foundation grant is used solely to stock the ponds with trout. All kids 17 years and younger are encouraged to participate as the adults watch them reel’em in!

Pumpkins in the Park
On October 9, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Pumpkins in the Park will celebrate their 15th anniversary at Discovery Meadow in front of the Children’s Discovery Museum. This event continues to grow in size while maintaining its focus on free hands-on educational children’s activities, family entertainment, and the celebration of the harvest season. This event is sponsored by Friends of Guadalupe River Park and Gardens.
Part of the event’s mission is to provide environmental education on the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens which opened in October 2005. The Guadalupe River Park is one of the largest urban parks in the United States. It is an urban oasis amid the bustling Downtown featuring meadows, public art and a restored river habitat.
In addition, Pumpkins features pumpkin decorating, puppet shows, face painting, scarecrow making contest, crafts, and a giant Pumpkin Patch. There is a tasting on many apple varieties and fresh apple cider are always a special treat.

Silicon Valley Soap Box Derby, Mountain View, CA
The Silicon Valley All American Soap Box Derby is a family oriented event in which children and their parents participate in the greatest amateur racing program in the world. The Soap Box Derby teaches youngsters teamwork, perseverance, the spirit of competition and basic construction skills. The program includes opportunities for all children including “super kids” – which pairs handicapped and non-handicapped kids in a competitive racing event. Derby racing levels the playing field so all participants have a chance of winning the Big Prize at the end of they day regardless of their physical capabilities. Air Systems is the Corporate Sponsor.
