ArticlesSMW 104 Local News - April 2004 IssueJob of the Month - San Jose City CollegeThe work being done by Local 104 members at Air Systems, Inc., in San Jose, exemplifies a perfectionism and quality of architectural work that sets the standard for the industry. This job also represents the power of our vote. The San Jose City College job was funded by Measure I, which passed by 74% in November of 1998 - five and a half years ago - in the amount of $135.75 million, and which is still producing hours for our members today! Vote Today - Work Tomorrow!Representing Air Systems Inc. and Local 104 are: Foreman John Wear, Superintendent Ray Burns, Local 104 Business Representative Mark Van Den Huevel, Lead Man Randy Sizelove, Rudy Contreras, and Abraham Arango. The 21,000 square feet barreled metal-roof, manufactured by AEP SPAN, was made up of double-lock standing searn 24-gauge, colored Galvalume. The job value was over $280,000, and produced over 25,000 combined shop and field hours for Local 104 members. The expansion joints (As Seen in PDF File) installed between the windows and the walls by Air Systems consisted of over 900 linear feet and were manufactured by Balco Metalines. Both soft and hard covers were installed, Marelich Mechanical, Inc., ran the HVAC on the job. Back to Articles page |
