ArticlesFEATURED MEMBER OF THE MONTH Air Systems, Inc. (ASI) was founded in San Jose in 1974 by Mr. John Davis. Mr. Davis's vision and passion was to provide the strongest offering of mechanical, architectural sheet metal, service repair, electrical, and process piping services for their customers. Moving in their fourth decade, ASI has provided comprehensive mechanical and electrical contracting, design/build, and maintenance services to Bay Area companies. Because ASI offers an inclusive range of HVAC services, the planning and execution of their projects are professionally integrated, assuring their clients a streamlined process with a single point of contact within Air Systems. Air Systems founding principle of partnering with clients earned the company an impressive reputation in the industry. This business philosophy led to Mr. Davis receiving the "Entrepreneur of the Year" honor awarded by the San Jose Business Journal in 1999. In 1999, Air Systems was acquired by Group Mac/Encompass and was merged with Linford Service Company to become Encompass Facility Services of Northern California. Following the acquisition of Air Systems, Encompass continued to grow by acquiring hundreds of specialty contractors nation wide. In 2003, John Davis, Art Williams, and Don Billups negotiated the successful purchase of the company back from Encompass to once again become Air Systems, Inc. (ASI). With the combined efforts of a strong management team, long time dedicated employees, and the business relationships Air Systems and Linford Service enjoyed with companies around the Bay Area, Air Systems personnel are excited to be locally owned and operated again. The Air Systems philosophy of building relationships is exemplified by their support of Bay Area Charities and Organizations through the Air Systems Foundation. The bi-annual Air Systems Car Show is a fundraising event, powered by ASI employees partnered with customers, vendors, and city personnel, all putting their personal time and efforts into the success of this event. The Air Systems Foundation, coupled with ASI Volunteers, has supported over 40 children's charities throughout Silicon Valley and Santa Clara County. Air Systems employees take a very active part in supporting the philanthropic efforts of ASI. ASI employees donate their personal time and efforts into various community assistance programs such as a yearly Holiday adopt a family program. This includes "adopting" local shelters and needy families of local churches where the employees partner up with ASI and provide the families with their "wish list" of immediate needs; including a personal visit from Santa and the ASI Elves to shelters each year. The ASI Messenger Space Ship, built by ASI employees, journeys to many events throughout the year with the ASI volunteers, helping to spread their message to the community; "Together we can build our children's future". ASI is also particularly proud of their student scholarship program, which helps to support qualified youths; with their first scholarship recipient to graduate from college in 2005. image
